  5. Demon is a family of application and report generation products, coupled with a
  6. powerful multi-user relational database. The product set comprises an
  7. application generator which enables multi-file applications to be produced
  8. without any coding; a concise, highly structured development language and
  9. compiler for more complex applications; and an English-like query language. The
  10. application generator enables end-users to create applications. At the same
  11. time, the full language capabilities allow applications of virtually unlimited
  12. complexity to be developed by the professional systems developer. Even on
  13. character-based terminals, applications can have an attractive, Windows-like
  14. appearance. Both DOS and UNIX versions are available. Applications developed in
  15. one environment can be run without change on the other. PC and UNIX versions
  16. can co-exist; PC applications can access and update data files held on the UNIX
  17. server at the same time as native UNIX applications are accessing the same
  18. files. An Officepower-compatible version is also available. This gives
  19. applications the Officepower look and feel again without any changes to the
  20. application, and allows applications to call and interface with all the core
  21. Officepower functions (x.400 mail, word processing, distribution lists, UDAP
  22. etc.).
